What surprised you most about Martinsburg?

Curious what people think. I'm originally from New York and With a population of 1,724, Martinsburg is a small town. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Let me know your thoughts. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.

I've been here 6 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is public transit. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the public transit is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is pretty good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Greenfield side vs the East side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
