What I wish I knew before living in Martinsburg

First post here. Poverty rate is 15.6%, which is higher than I expected. It's a a small town city with about 18,805 people. Median household income is $54,590, which feels on the lower side for the area. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Pros:
- Affordable cost of living
- Good job market
- Friendly people
- Good schools
- Lots of new development

Cons:
- Limited public transit
- Hot summers
- Few job opportunities in some fields
- Boring for young people
- Far from major airports
Any advice would be great. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The food scene here is surprisingly good. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The suburbs are where most families end up.
