Anyone else love living in Martinsville?

Hello, You can expect to pay around $2,183 for rent here. The unemployment rate is 1.5%, which is pretty low. Property taxes are high but you get good services. What are your go-to spots? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

I'm a teacher and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The community is decent and there's always something going on.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value job market, you'll love it. The cost of living is genuinely underrated and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. My neighborhood (Fairview) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Raleigh, be prepared for the culture shock. dating scene is completely different here. And Limited high-paying job options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
