Alright, We're a young couple and The unemployment rate is 1.5%, which is pretty low. Median household income is $86,485, which feels pretty solid for the area. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Does this match your experience?

Used to live on the Lakewood side, now on the Maple Ridge side. Completely different vibe. it's been a really good experience overall.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. it's not perfect but it works for me. Compared to Chicago it's improving.

Hot take but it's been a really good experience overall. I know a lot of people disagree but after 11 years here, that's my honest assessment.

My experience has been mostly positive. the quality of life is solid. The only thing I'd watch out for is pet-friendliness. Other than that, Definitely worth checking out..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Tampa and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Downtown. It's pretty good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in construction. If you're in finance you might struggle.
People: Generally better than expected. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Italian.
Definitely worth checking out..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. the quality of life is solid. Internet is hit or miss in most areas.

Public transit is tough here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I have mixed feelings honestly.
