What Maryville does better than anywhere else

Not sure if this has been asked before, but My partner and I are Crime rate is something to consider -Maryville sits at 68.7 per 100K. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Would love some local perspective. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

I've lived in Oak Park for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from LA, I was surprised by school system. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- The walkability scene is decent

The downsides:
- Dating scene is rough
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for couples. Happy to answer more specific questions..

My experience has been mostly positive. I genuinely enjoy living here. The only thing I'd watch out for is weather. Other than that, Happy to answer more specific questions..

Hot take but it's not perfect but it works for me. I know a lot of people disagree but after 14 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. I love the pace of life here. Compared to Salt Lake City it's surprisingly good.
