Remote worker thinking about Matawan

First post here. Median household income is $122,026, which feels pretty solid for the area. Rent is about $1,714/month for a decent place. With a population of 9,636, Matawan is a small town. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Should I be concerned? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 12 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is cultural scene. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the school system is legit. And if you're into surfing, this place is better than expected.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The The Heights side vs the Highland side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Good luck with whatever you decide..
