What surprised you most about Matteson?

Alright, I work in engineering and Rent is about $1,390/month for a decent place. Household incomes average around $98,617 in Matteson. Average temperature is around 51--F, so expect cold winters. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The suburbs are where most families end up. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The city has invested a lot in new development. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from San Francisco and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Sunset. It's decent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in real estate. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.

People: Generally pretty good. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like Italian.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..
