I work in media and It's a a small town city with about 4,204 people. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. TIA! Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

I've lived in Springfield for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from Boston, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The pet-friendliness scene is improving
The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Not very walkable outside downtown
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for retirees. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I work in consulting here and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The job market for my field is tough. Hope this helps!.

As someone who grew up here, I genuinely enjoy living here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. safety used to be much pricey but now it's improving.

I've been living here for 10 years and I'd say it exceeded my expectations. The community vibe is underrated compared to other places I've lived. Overall Good luck with whatever you decide..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Compared to LA it's average.

Public transit is surprisingly good here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it exceeded my expectations.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I love the pace of life here. Internet is tough in most areas.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's exactly what I was looking for. The only thing I'd watch out for is community vibe. Other than that, Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Used to live on the The Heights side, now on the Fairview side. Completely different vibe. it's exactly what I was looking for.
