Cost of living reality check -Mauldin

Curious what people think. I'm a 35-year-old contractor and Median household income is $81,027, which feels pretty solid for the area. Average temperature is around 60--F, so the weather is moderate. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Anyone in a similar situation? Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The city has invested a lot in new development. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. As someone who grew up here, I genuinely enjoy living here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. safety used to be much pricey but now it's pretty good.

I work in construction here and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The job market for my field is hit or miss. Definitely worth checking out..
