How are the schools in Mauldin?

We have two kids and It's a a smaller city city with about 25,985 people. Crime rate is something to consider -Mauldin sits at 223.9 per 100K. With a population of 25,985, Mauldin is a smaller city. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Should I be concerned? Looking forward to hearing from you all. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a electrician who relocated here from Salt Lake City about 15 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Good internet infrastructure
- Four distinct seasons

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Road conditions need improvement

Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are affordable, gas is improving.

Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value housing market, you'll love it. The dating scene is genuinely better than expected and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. My neighborhood (Downtown) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Austin, be prepared for the culture shock. pet-friendliness is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want walkability, then yeah this place is great. But if job market matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I work in legal here and it's exactly what I was looking for. The job market for my field is average. No regrets on my end..

If you value safety, you'll love it. The cultural scene is genuinely better than expected and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. My neighborhood (Greenfield) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Dallas, be prepared for the culture shock. school system is completely different here. And Not very walkable outside downtown.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
