Pros and cons of Maurertown after 13 years

So, I relocated for work and Rent is about $1,391/month for a decent place. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Am I overthinking this?

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a writer who relocated here from Charlotte about 15 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Affordable housing options
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Can feel isolated

Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are pricey, gas is underrated.

Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Happy to answer more specific questions..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are challenging, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Hot take but it exceeded my expectations. I know a lot of people disagree but after 3 years here, that's my honest assessment.
