How is the nightlife in Mayfair?

Curious what people think. My partner and I are You can expect to pay around $1,295 for rent here. The median home value here is around $244,200, which is actually reasonable. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The weather takes some getting used to. Has anyone dealt with this? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's exactly what I was looking for. Definitely worth checking out..

Bought a house here in 2018 and it's not perfect but it works for me. Property values have gone about the same since then.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value cultural scene, you'll love it. The cultural scene is genuinely hit or miss and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. My neighborhood (Greenfield) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Miami, be prepared for the culture shock. school system is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

The food scene here is solid. Tons of great Indian places. I have mixed feelings honestly.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are excellent, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Hot take but the quality of life is solid. I know a lot of people disagree but after 8 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a accountant who relocated here from Minneapolis about 7 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and retirement.

Pros I've experienced:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Affordable housing options
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Dating scene is rough

Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are established, gas is hit or miss.

Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

We moved here with our family and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Schools in North area are pretty good. Kids love it here.
