Random thought, I work in energy and It's a a small town city with about 5,173 people. Homes are going for about $244,200 on average. The unemployment rate is 7.3%, which is concerning. Household incomes average around $59,638 in Mayfair. The city has invested a lot in new development. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Looking forward to hearing from you all. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

I'm a project manager and I've found it exceeded my expectations. The community is pretty good and there's always something going on.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value cost of living, you'll love it. The public transit is genuinely underrated and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. My neighborhood (South) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Seattle, be prepared for the culture shock. public transit is completely different here. And Traffic during rush hour is rough.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

My experience has been mostly positive. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The only thing I'd watch out for is pet-friendliness. Other than that, Happy to answer more specific questions..
