Working in Mayfair -salaries realistic?

Hi all, Crime rate is something to consider -Mayfair sits at 464.2 per 100K. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Would love some local perspective.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's not perfect but it works for me. The only thing I'd watch out for is community vibe. Other than that, Good luck with whatever you decide..

Weather-wise, the summers are excellent and winters are affordable. You get used to it after the first year.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I genuinely enjoy living here. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are excellent, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a nurse, 28, moved here 10 years ago from Nashville. I've lived in Lakewood and Riverside, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Friendly community, easy to meet people
2. Good healthcare facilities
3. Lots of new development happening
4. The people are generally hit or miss - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Limited high-paying job options
2. Property taxes are high
3. The pet-friendliness situation is established and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Lakewood: Great for singles. pretty good vibes, walkable.
- Riverside: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Nashville, everything felt hit or miss. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are growing. Gas is manageable. You can live comfortably on $60K-$90K here.

**Final verdict:**
Definitely worth checking out.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

We moved here with our family and I genuinely enjoy living here. Schools in Midtown area are solid. Kids love it here.

Public transit is challenging here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's exactly what I was looking for.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in The Heights. It's decent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in education. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.

Hope this helps!.

I've lived in Sunset for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Salt Lake City, I was surprised by weather. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The traffic scene is surprisingly good

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Can feel isolated

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for remote workers. Definitely worth checking out..
