Hi all, I grew up here but left for a while. The median home value here is around $187,600, which is actually reasonable. You can expect to pay around $1,089 for rent here. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Has anyone dealt with this? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The weather takes some getting used to.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want outdoor recreation, then yeah this place is great. But if school system matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Denver and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Maple Ridge. It's excellent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in engineering. If you're in marketing you might struggle.
People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.
