Things that make Mayfield Heights unique

Hey folks, I relocated for work and You can expect to pay around $1,089 for rent here. The median home value here is around $187,600, which is actually reasonable. Homes are going for about $187,600 on average. The unemployment rate is 4.1%, which is about average. Poverty rate is 4.9%, which is pretty low. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

Pros:
- Friendly people
- Low taxes
- Active local events

Cons:
- Limited public transit
- High property taxes
- Few job opportunities in some fields
- Far from major airports
Thanks in advance! The weather takes some getting used to. The weather takes some getting used to. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The food scene here is surprisingly good. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The city has invested a lot in new development. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a sales manager who relocated here from Boston about 4 years ago. The main reasons were school and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Lots of new development happening
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are reasonable, gas is average.

Socially, I love the pace of life here. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.

I've been here 8 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the school system is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is decent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The East side vs the Highland side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

My experience has been mostly positive. it's been a really good experience overall. The only thing I'd watch out for is public transit. Other than that, Definitely worth checking out..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are hit or miss, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is public transit. it exceeded my expectations. Worth doing your research before committing.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.

I've been here 11 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is pet-friendliness. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cultural scene is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is pretty good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Riverside side vs the West side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I've been living here for 12 years and I'd say it exceeded my expectations. The food scene is hit or miss compared to other places I've lived. Overall Hope this helps!.
