Just moved here 7 months ago and Rent is about $1,678/month for a decent place. With a population of 10,663, Maynard is a small town. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a nurse who relocated here from Phoenix about 12 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and retirement.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Strong job market in several industries
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Winters are long and cold
Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are competitive, gas is surprisingly good.
Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Bought a house here in 2015 and it's improved dramatically in recent years. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

I'm a HR manager and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The community is excellent and there's always something going on.
