First post here. I'm retired and You can expect to pay around $1,768 for rent here. Average temperature is around 56--F, so the weather is moderate. The weather takes some getting used to. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. What are your go-to spots? Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Chicago and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Sunset. It's solid for what you get.
Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in legal. If you're in government you might struggle.
People: Generally underrated. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: improving. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.
