Hey folks, Been living here since 2005. It's a a small town city with about 1,106 people. Any advice would be great.

As someone who grew up here, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. A lot has changed in the past few years though. housing market used to be much wild but now it's surprisingly good.

I've lived in North for about 6 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from New York, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- The nightlife scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Limited shopping options

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for young professionals. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.

I've been here 13 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is public transit. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cultural scene is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Lakewood side vs the Eastside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.

I'm a social worker and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. The community is hit or miss and there's always something going on.

We moved here with our family and it's improved dramatically in recent years. Schools in Uptown area are tough. Kids love it here.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is pet-friendliness. it's exactly what I was looking for. Worth doing your research before committing.

Weather-wise, the summers are challenging and winters are reasonable. You get used to it after the first year.
