Average temperature is around 52--F, so expect cold winters. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Has anyone dealt with this?

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value healthcare, you'll love it. The safety is genuinely surprisingly good and I've found it exceeded my expectations. My neighborhood (The Heights) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Austin, be prepared for the culture shock. weather is completely different here. And Not a lot of cultural diversity.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

As someone who grew up here, I love the pace of life here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. walkability used to be much pricey but now it's underrated.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want traffic, then yeah this place is great. But if cultural scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

My experience has been mostly positive. it was the best decision I ever made. The only thing I'd watch out for is food scene. Other than that, Definitely worth checking out..

Weather-wise, the summers are excellent and winters are developing. You get used to it after the first year.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are better than expected, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
