As someone who grew up here, I'm still on the fence after all this time. A lot has changed in the past few years though. community vibe used to be much established but now it's tough.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a electrician who relocated here from Nashville about 14 years ago. The main reasons were weather and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Lots of new development happening
- Close to major attractions

Cons that are real:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Road conditions need improvement

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are affordable, gas is hit or miss.

Socially, I love the pace of life here. No regrets on my end..

We moved here with our family and it's exactly what I was looking for. Schools in Maple Ridge area are better than expected. Kids love it here.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a social worker who relocated here from Baltimore about 1 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good healthcare facilities
- Good internet infrastructure

Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Not very walkable outside downtown

Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are stable, gas is pretty good.

Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Used to live on the North side, now on the Uptown side. Completely different vibe. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a electrician, 49, moved here 5 years ago from Dallas. I've lived in Highland and Cedar Grove, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Friendly community, easy to meet people
2. Good schools in most areas
3. Good healthcare facilities
4. The people are generally decent - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Winters are long and cold
2. Nightlife is limited
3. The nightlife situation is developing and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Highland: Great for families. improving vibes, walkable.
- Cedar Grove: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Dallas, everything felt tough. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are reasonable. Gas is developing. You can live comfortably on $100K-$90K here.

**Final verdict:**
Good luck with whatever you decide.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Bought a house here in 2021 and it exceeded my expectations. Property values have gone down slightly since then.
