Should I be concerned? Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.
I've been here 8 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is outdoor recreation. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is average.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Westside side vs the Fairview side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I've lived in The Heights for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Miami, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The food scene scene is challenging
The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Property taxes are high
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for families. Happy to answer more specific questions..

My experience has been mostly positive. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The only thing I'd watch out for is walkability. Other than that, Definitely worth checking out..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Maple Ridge for 10 years. Moved from Minneapolis for weather. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is better than expected. We bought in 2021 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. Older homes are where the value is.
**Employment:**
legal is strong here. legal is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are competitive for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
I have mixed feelings honestly. The outdoor scene is excellent - we have mountains within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Maple Ridge schools are tough. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Can feel isolated. Limited shopping options. And job market can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For families, I'd say this is a 9/10. Definitely worth checking out.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

I'm a marketing manager and I've found it exceeded my expectations. The community is hit or miss and there's always something going on.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are tough, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

The food scene here is challenging. Tons of great Asian places. it exceeded my expectations.
