Is McHenry good for remote workers?

Hey, It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Has anyone dealt with this?

Public transit is pretty good here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it was the best decision I ever made.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a nurse who relocated here from Miami about 13 years ago. The main reasons were work and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Four distinct seasons

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are competitive, gas is solid.

Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
