Housing market in McKinleyville right now

Random thought, We have two kids and The median home value here is around $414,200, which is pretty steep. Crime rate is something to consider -McKinleyville sits at 439.5 per 100K. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. What would you do? The city has invested a lot in new development. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The weather takes some getting used to. The suburbs are where most families end up. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The suburbs are where most families end up. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. I've lived in The Heights for about 6 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from San Diego, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Decent public transit for the size
- The dating scene scene is better than expected

The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Chain restaurants dominate

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for remote workers. Hope this helps!.

Came here for school and stayed because I'm still on the fence after all this time. The traffic is honestly surprisingly good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
