Anyone work in healthcare in McLean?

Curious what people think. Been living here since 2012. The median home value here is around $1,304,900, which is pretty steep. The unemployment rate is 1.4%, which is pretty low. With a population of 50,232, McLean is a smaller city. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Anyone in a similar situation? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The city has invested a lot in new development. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I'm a lawyer and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. The community is surprisingly good and there's always something going on.

Public transit is tough here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's exactly what I was looking for.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Downtown for 2 years. Moved from Chicago for a fresh start. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is average. We bought in 2021 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.

**Employment:**
retail is strong here. finance is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are stable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I love the pace of life here. The outdoor scene is hit or miss - we have rivers within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Downtown schools are hit or miss. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Nightlife is limited. Not a lot of cultural diversity. And cost of living can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For retirees, I'd say this is a 9/10. Would recommend to anyone considering it.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
