How are the schools in McLeansboro?

OK so Household incomes average around $46,589 in McLeansboro. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Would love some local perspective. The city has invested a lot in new development. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value traffic, you'll love it. The community vibe is genuinely underrated and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. My neighborhood (South) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Austin, be prepared for the culture shock. community vibe is completely different here. And Limited high-paying job options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a teacher who relocated here from New York about 6 years ago. The main reasons were work and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Decent public transit for the size
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are reasonable, gas is average.

Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a chef who relocated here from Nashville about 8 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Decent public transit for the size

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are stable, gas is decent.

Socially, it exceeded my expectations. No regrets on my end..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in West for 13 years. Moved from Nashville for quality of life. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is hit or miss. We bought in 2021 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals.

**Employment:**
construction is strong here. construction is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are manageable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I genuinely enjoy living here. The outdoor scene is surprisingly good - we have beaches within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. West schools are tough. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Not very walkable outside downtown. Chain restaurants dominate. And nightlife can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For singles, I'd say this is a 6/10. Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
