Cost of living reality check -McMinnville

First post here. Median household income is $70,060, which feels about average for the area. It's a a smaller city city with about 34,493 people. Crime rate is something to consider -McMinnville sits at 197.5 per 100K. Poverty rate is 11.8%, which is around average. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Came here for a fresh start and stayed because the quality of life is solid. The dating scene is honestly tough and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

The food scene here is excellent. Tons of great Asian places. I have mixed feelings honestly.

As someone who grew up here, it's exactly what I was looking for. A lot has changed in the past few years though. outdoor recreation used to be much competitive but now it's pretty good.
