Job market in McMinnville for tech?

Alright, I'm retired and Rent is about $1,290/month for a decent place. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Am I overthinking this? I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from Raleigh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Uptown. It's tough for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in retail. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally improving. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.

I've been here 3 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is outdoor recreation. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the school system is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is improving.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The West side vs the The Heights side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Happy to answer more specific questions..
