I'm originally from Nashville and The unemployment rate is 1.5%, which is pretty low. Rent is about $898/month for a decent place. The city has invested a lot in new development. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. What would you do? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from Phoenix and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Sunset. It's surprisingly good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in education. If you're in legal you might struggle.
People: Generally solid. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like Korean.
