Should I move to Mead or stay in St. Louis?

Anyone else feel this way? I work in automotive and It's a a small town city with about 5,503 people. Average temperature is around 52--F, so expect cold winters. The median home value here is around $552,100, which is pretty steep. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The city has invested a lot in new development. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The weather takes some getting used to. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is job market. I genuinely enjoy living here. Worth doing your research before committing.

Hot take but I have mixed feelings honestly. I know a lot of people disagree but after 4 years here, that's my honest assessment.

I've lived in West for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from Tampa, I was surprised by housing market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Active local events and festivals
- The food scene scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Not very walkable outside downtown

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for young professionals. Feel free to reach out with questions..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are hit or miss, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Atlanta about 10 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Active local events and festivals

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Can feel isolated

Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are stable, gas is underrated.

Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Internet is surprisingly good in most areas.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.

I've been here 8 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is school system. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is challenging.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Westside side vs the North side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Happy to answer more specific questions..
