Best neighborhoods to rent in Meade?

Hey everyone, The food scene here is surprisingly good. Am I wrong here? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Boston and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Oak Park. It's surprisingly good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in real estate. If you're in retail you might struggle.

People: Generally solid. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like seafood.

No regrets on my end..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a writer, 41, moved here 3 years ago from Salt Lake City. I've lived in Sunset and North, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Low crime in most neighborhoods
2. Good healthcare facilities
3. Lots of family-friendly activities
4. The people are generally better than expected - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Rising rent and home prices
2. Urban sprawl is real
3. The pet-friendliness situation is pricey and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Sunset: Great for retirees. hit or miss vibes, walkable.
- North: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Salt Lake City, everything felt solid. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are developing. Gas is reasonable. You can live comfortably on $70K-$90K here.

**Final verdict:**
Feel free to reach out with questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I've lived in Westside for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from Minneapolis, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The cost of living scene is better than expected

The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Limited entertainment options

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for remote workers. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Public transit is pretty good here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's exactly what I was looking for.
