I'm a 22-year-old graphic designer and Average temperature is around 56--F, so the weather is moderate. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Does this match your experience?

I'm a sales manager and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. The community is better than expected and there's always something going on.

Hot take but it's been a really good experience overall. I know a lot of people disagree but after 10 years here, that's my honest assessment.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a accountant, 27, moved here 7 years ago from Charlotte. I've lived in East and Springfield, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Strong job market in several industries
2. Four distinct seasons
3. Strong sense of community
4. The people are generally decent - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Rising rent and home prices
2. Far from beaches/mountains
3. The healthcare situation is reasonable and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- East: Great for couples. underrated vibes, walkable.
- Springfield: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Charlotte, everything felt underrated. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are stable. Gas is developing. You can live comfortably on $60K-$110K here.
**Final verdict:**
Definitely worth checking out.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Bought a house here in 2016 and it's been a really good experience overall. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

I've been living here for 3 years and I'd say it's exactly what I was looking for. The traffic is improving compared to other places I've lived. Overall Happy to answer more specific questions..

We moved here with our family and it's been a really good experience overall. Schools in South area are excellent. Kids love it here.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value housing market, you'll love it. The walkability is genuinely hit or miss and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. My neighborhood (Riverside) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Boston, be prepared for the culture shock. dating scene is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I've lived in Westside for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Nashville, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Four distinct seasons
- Close to major attractions
- The pet-friendliness scene is pretty good
The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Limited shopping options
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for couples. Hope this helps!.

My experience has been mostly positive. I genuinely enjoy living here. The only thing I'd watch out for is public transit. Other than that, Hope this helps!.
