I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is public transit. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Worth doing your research before committing.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a sales manager who relocated here from Dallas about 7 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and a job opportunity.
Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Lots of new development happening
- Active local events and festivals
Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Limited shopping options
Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are wild, gas is improving.
Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
