Raising a family in Meadowbrook -thoughts?

Hey everyone, Average temperature is around 59--F, so the weather is moderate. Homes are going for about $262,600 on average. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The city has invested a lot in new development. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a accountant who relocated here from Portland about 8 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and a fresh start.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are competitive, gas is hit or miss.

Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.

I've been here 1 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is healthcare. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the public transit is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is hit or miss.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Riverside side vs the Midtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want nightlife, then yeah this place is great. But if outdoor recreation matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
