Thinking about relocating to Mechanicville from Tampa

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from New York about 7 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and retirement.

Pros I've experienced:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Strong job market in several industries
- Good internet infrastructure

Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Limited shopping options

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are developing, gas is underrated.

Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
