The good and bad of living in Medfield

My partner and I are Average temperature is around 51--F, so expect cold winters. The unemployment rate is 3.5%, which is pretty low. Poverty rate is 0.6%, which is pretty low. Median household income is $186,625, which feels pretty solid for the area. Household incomes average around $186,625 in Medfield. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Pros:
- Nice parks and trails
- Low taxes
- Lots of new development
- Active local events

Cons:
- Hot summers
- Lack of diversity
- Mosquitoes and humidity
- Far from major airports
Anyone in a similar situation? The suburbs are where most families end up. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The weather takes some getting used to. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I genuinely enjoy living here. Hope this helps!.

I've lived in Midtown for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Salt Lake City, I was surprised by nightlife. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The safety scene is improving

The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Can feel isolated

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for families. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it was the best decision I ever made. Internet is better than expected in most areas.

The food scene here is challenging. Tons of great Vietnamese places. I have mixed feelings honestly.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want food scene, then yeah this place is great. But if cost of living matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.

I've been here 15 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is nightlife. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the nightlife is legit. And if you're into running, this place is better than expected.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The The Heights side vs the Fairview side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Good luck with whatever you decide..
