Cost of living reality check -Medford

Hello, I'm a teacher here and Household incomes average around $118,089 in Medford. The unemployment rate is 3.1%, which is pretty low. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Has anyone dealt with this? Looking forward to hearing from you all. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. it's been a really good experience overall. Compared to Atlanta it's improving.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Compared to Pittsburgh it's average.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are challenging, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
