Is Medford still affordable?

OK so Poverty rate is 3.0%, which is pretty low. With a population of 59,062, Medford is a smaller city. Rent is about $2,477/month for a decent place. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

Pros:
- Great weather
- Good job market
- Good healthcare facilities
- Plenty of shopping options

Cons:
- Traffic can be terrible
- Limited public transit
- Poor road conditions
- Far from major airports
Worth the trade-offs? The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Property taxes are high but you get good services. I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is safety. I have mixed feelings honestly. Worth doing your research before committing.
