Job hunting in Medford -tips?

Hi all, I work in retail and Homes are going for about $444,500 on average. Median household income is $128,631, which feels pretty solid for the area. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. What neighborhoods would you suggest? The weather takes some getting used to. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Sunset for 12 years. Moved from Raleigh for weather. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is solid. We bought in 2018 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts.

**Employment:**
education is strong here. construction is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are reasonable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's exactly what I was looking for. The outdoor scene is average - we have rivers within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Sunset schools are surprisingly good. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Not very walkable outside downtown. Limited shopping options. And job market can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For families, I'd say this is a 8/10. Would recommend to anyone considering it.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

I've lived in Uptown for about 5 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from Austin, I was surprised by housing market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good healthcare facilities
- The outdoor recreation scene is underrated

The downsides:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for retirees. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
