Planning a move to Medford -neighborhoods?

Rent is about $1,321/month for a decent place. Household incomes average around $70,497 in Medford. Crime rate is something to consider -Medford sits at 501.6 per 100K. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Should I be concerned? Appreciate any input. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The weather takes some getting used to. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a writer who relocated here from LA about 5 years ago. The main reasons were family and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Active local events and festivals
- Diverse dining options
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are affordable, gas is solid.

Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
