Hello, Born and raised here. Poverty rate is 8.0%, which is pretty low. You can expect to pay around $1,321 for rent here. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. it's not perfect but it works for me. Compared to Baltimore it's underrated.

I've lived in Downtown for about 6 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from New York, I was surprised by dating scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The public transit scene is pretty good
The downsides:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Limited entertainment options
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for young professionals. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, the quality of life is solid. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
