Anyone else noticing rent going up fast in Medford? Over the last year, I feel like prices went up at least 10-15%. I'm paying $1321 for a 1BR which feels okay for the area.
Are there any neighborhoods that are still affordable? Thinking about moving to a cheaper area.

For families, I'd recommend looking at University District. Schools are rated well and it's quiet.

Weather is the biggest factor for us. Four seasons are nice, not too extreme either way.

The job market has been improving lately. Several finance companies moved in recently.

Can confirm the safety issue. But it really depends on the neighborhood. Highland Park and Westside are perfectly safe.

Public transit needs work but they're investing in it. Should improve in next few years.

I'd add that healthcare options are better than most cities this size. Otherwise spot on!

Coming from New York, the cost of living difference is noticeable. Groceries and gas are cheaper.

As someone who moved here from Dallas, I can confirm most of this. The cost of living surprised me the most.
