Curious what people think. Homes are going for about $387,000 on average. It's a a smaller city city with about 85,794 people. Rent is about $1,321/month for a decent place. The unemployment rate is 3.2%, which is pretty low. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The suburbs are where most families end up. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Am I wrong here? Any help is appreciated. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. I genuinely enjoy living here. Compared to Nashville it's decent.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's exactly what I was looking for. The only thing I'd watch out for is pet-friendliness. Other than that, Feel free to reach out with questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from Portland and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in North. It's excellent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in real estate you might struggle.
People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 5 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like seafood.
Hope this helps!.

Used to live on the Sunset side, now on the Lakewood side. Completely different vibe. it exceeded my expectations.
