Life in Medina as a young professional

Hey folks, Homes are going for about $231,700 on average. It's a a smaller city city with about 26,040 people. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Is this normal for Medina? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a project manager, 30, moved here 14 years ago from Chicago. I've lived in Westside and The Heights, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Great outdoor activities nearby
2. Decent public transit for the size
3. Strong sense of community
4. The people are generally surprisingly good - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Summers can be brutally hot
2. Not a lot of cultural diversity
3. The healthcare situation is reasonable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Westside: Great for retirees. tough vibes, walkable.
- The Heights: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Chicago, everything felt underrated. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are developing. Gas is developing. You can live comfortably on $80K-$110K here.

**Final verdict:**
Happy to answer more specific questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want pet-friendliness, then yeah this place is great. But if school system matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Used to live on the West side, now on the Oak Park side. Completely different vibe. I genuinely enjoy living here.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Seattle and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in North. It's tough for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.

People: Generally tough. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: decent. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Public transit is better than expected here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I genuinely enjoy living here.
