Living in Medina -the reality

Military spouse here. Crime rate is something to consider -Medina sits at 79.1 per 100K. Household incomes average around $76,099 in Medina. You can expect to pay around $1,025 for rent here. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Pros:
- Great weather
- Friendly people
- Growing food scene
- Close to nature
- Good airport connections

Cons:
- Lack of diversity
- Far from major airports
- Chain restaurants dominate
Should I be concerned? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The suburbs are where most families end up. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The weather takes some getting used to. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are improving, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Came here for retirement and stayed because I'm still on the fence after all this time. The outdoor recreation is honestly improving and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

As someone who grew up here, it's not perfect but it works for me. A lot has changed in the past few years though. cost of living used to be much stable but now it's excellent.
