Affordable areas near Medulla?

Hello, I'm single, late 30s, and Crime rate is something to consider -Medulla sits at 446.6 per 100K. It's a a small town city with about 11,712 people. The city has invested a lot in new development. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Would love some local perspective. Appreciate any input.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. I genuinely enjoy living here. Compared to Seattle it's surprisingly good.

Public transit is hit or miss here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's been a really good experience overall.

We moved here with our family and it's not perfect but it works for me. Schools in Oak Park area are excellent. Kids love it here.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a chef who relocated here from Nashville about 6 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Diverse dining options
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Limited entertainment options

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are wild, gas is surprisingly good.

Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Happy to answer more specific questions..
