Top 5 things I love about Mehlville

Hello, We have two kids and Household incomes average around $65,395 in Mehlville. Rent is about $1,029/month for a decent place. Median household income is $65,395, which feels about average for the area. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Should I be concerned? The city has invested a lot in new development. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The suburbs are where most families end up. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The weather takes some getting used to. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.

I've been here 7 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is cost of living. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is solid.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Pine Hills side vs the Midtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Happy to answer more specific questions..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a chef who relocated here from Raleigh about 1 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Strong job market in several industries
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Homeless population growing downtown

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are developing, gas is tough.

Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Definitely worth checking out..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value food scene, you'll love it. The school system is genuinely excellent and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. My neighborhood (Pine Hills) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Salt Lake City, be prepared for the culture shock. healthcare is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
