Random thought, We have two kids and You can expect to pay around $1,933 for rent here. Rent is about $1,933/month for a decent place. With a population of 29,488, Melrose is a smaller city. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Property taxes are high but you get good services. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The city has invested a lot in new development. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The weather takes some getting used to. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I have mixed feelings honestly. Good luck with whatever you decide..

I've lived in Pine Hills for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Salt Lake City, I was surprised by dating scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Good internet infrastructure
- Close to major attractions
- The cost of living scene is underrated
The downsides:
- Dating scene is rough
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for retirees. No regrets on my end..

We moved here with our family and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Schools in Greenfield area are tough. Kids love it here.

I've been living here for 6 years and I'd say it was the best decision I ever made. The nightlife is solid compared to other places I've lived. Overall Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are surprisingly good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want pet-friendliness, then yeah this place is great. But if community vibe matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value dating scene, you'll love it. The cost of living is genuinely tough and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. My neighborhood (Meadowbrook) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Phoenix, be prepared for the culture shock. outdoor recreation is completely different here. And Winters are long and cold.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
