Moving to Memphis for work — advice?
Hey folks, Average temperature is around 64°F, so the weather is moderate. Thoughts?

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a lawyer who relocated here from Phoenix about 4 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and quality of life.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good schools in most areas
- Good airport with direct flights
Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Property taxes are high
Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are manageable, gas is decent.
Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
