Hey everyone, It's a a small town city with about 1,078 people. Rent is about $688/month for a decent place. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Am I overthinking this? Thanks in advance! People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from Portland and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Pine Hills. It's challenging for what you get.
Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in real estate. If you're in finance you might struggle.
People: Generally challenging. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like craft beer.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I have mixed feelings honestly. Internet is average in most areas.
